Think & Grow Rich – Does It Work?

It all depends……. Working to be rich does! Or does it?

Believe it or not, though thinking rich helps in making one feel rich, it is in what one does that ensures affluence is reachable and do-able.

Being rich, more than just a state of mind, is actually a state of one’s pocket. Getting those greens in your wallet require a lot of luck, preparation and opportunity to come your way.

Alright, enough of my ramblings, have a great day ahead!

The following are helpful tips and advice to hopefully snag that richness and swim in it. Acquiring lots of wealth has never been this easy, or is it?

Look Out For Inheritance

Believe it or not, this is a very old yet a very effective tried and tested way that today’s families got rich in the first place.

During the early 1800s as well as 1900s, just right before there were laws put up on taxes, trusts, etc., the wealthy families of America built large empires and amassed for themselves lots and lots of money through various industries like banking, oil, newspapers, transportation, sugar, land, etc.

That wealth – like an heirloom – has been passed onto generations upon generations of family.

Therefore, inheritance is one of the surest and easiest way to get rich. Provided of course that the family before yours was rich enough to do so.

The down side of this method is that wealth inheritance only works if you are born to the appropriately rich family.

If not, then go and establish your own wealth and pass it on to your children and your children’s children. Oprah wasn’t born rich, but look at her now.

It is never too late or too early to start.

Marry Up, Marry Rich

If inheritance seems a long shot, try marrying someone rich. If you are extremely lucky, that person you just married could be kind, lovable and generous. If not, then divorce will make sure you get what is handsomely due you.

However, for this to work, you have to make sure that you get married in a state where property community laws favors you.

Work, Work, Work

If inheriting wealth and marrying rich does not work, there is always an alternative: work for the money.

It is very rare that people get rich just by holding a job, though it does pay the bills. What people do to get rich is building a company and owning a company. Eventually, the company goes public thereby bringing the owners millions upon millions of those green dollars.

Inventing something everyone would find useful is another way to get rich and at the same time help society benefit from it. Some examples includes Microsoft, Google, eBay or Post-it, etc.

Win, Win, Win

If inheriting wealth is not your cup of tea, if you cannot marry rich and if working and working still won’t bring you wealth, try winning it.

After all, that is what lotteries are for. Eventually, someone wins at the lottery, and hope that it could be you. Though the chances of winning the lottery is a lot less, compared to perhaps being struck by lightning, it is only worth a buck so why not try it out?

Gamble For Money

If marrying does not work, if inheriting does not work, if winning does not work, try gambling. Believe it or not, a total of fifty million Americans play poker. There are even those that win millions out of it.

Watching these poker players battle and win it out on tv seems easy, however the fact of the matter is, it is not.

Steal Money?

This is a loser’s attempt to get rich, but it could work. That is if you are willing to risk life, limb and one hundred years of your life in federal prison if caught.

Being a CEO is one good way to steal money. Cook those accounting books, purchase a thirty million dollar home, lie and hope that no one notices. But this is really not advisable.

Another un-recommended way to get rich is to deal, either drugs, meth, heroine or crack as well as other non-approved meds by the FDA.

Invest Your Money

This is a sure way to get rich and a very clean one too. Real estate is a good investment with its rate going up by ten percent every year.

Though this process takes time, and also needs a humongous down payment to get started, you will get rich still, just right now.

All in all, getting rich is easy as long as you put your mind and heart to what it is you want to do. But the best way to get money is actually to give it. See how it works. That is of course, it should be given willingly and with a happy – not a heavy – heart.

Get The Mindset Of The World’s Most Successful People

It doesn’t matter who they are – businessmen, artists, sportsmen, inventors – successful people have more things in common than you think.

These common attitudes and qualities have been very effective in helping them see things that other people don’t see, rise above their personal troubles and outperform their competitors. In other words, they have a successful mindset.

You too, can develop this mindset and harness its power to change your life. You just have to realize that half of what earns you success is being prepared for it. Here are some ways to change your current mindset into a mindset of success:

Have Vision & Focus

Successful people are conditioned to look forward, to always ask what if and why not. It is this innate curiosity and openness for new things that help them develop a creative mind.

A creative mind can see beyond the present; it can see possibilities and combinations that are otherwise unavailable to closeminded people.

It is this sense of vision and tenacity of focus that keeps them crying out, “Eureka!” while everyone else are scratching their heads.

Case in point: a trucker named Malcolm Mclean, who, as he watched the contents of his truck being loaded onto a ship in 1937, thought that it would be much faster and more convenient if the trailer itself were lifted instead.

He turned that idea into a vision and that vision was containerized shipping, revolutionizing the shipping industry.

Take Calculated Risks

You know stories of people who made blind leaps of faith and landed on a ton of money but they are more the exception than the rule.

Successful people are not afraid of risk but rather view it not as a danger, but more of a probability that could result to a lot of possible outcomes, some of which can be very profitable.

Don’t Blame Your Parents

Or anybody else, for that matter. Successful people know better than to waste time pointing fingers when things go wrong. They don’t bother complaining, instead, they roll up their sleeves and do something. They take responsibility for their action.

Learn To Give Credit

Successful people know to whom they owe their achievements. They recognize other people’s contributions and do not pretend to be who they are not.

Successful people are smart enough to recognize a higher power, regardless of their faith. It is this recognition that makes them retain a humility and a sense of integrity and charity to share their wealth and knowledge.

Never Stop Learning

Success is built upon failure and failure truly is not learning from mistakes. Successful people know that mistakes are inevitable in any areas in life but they do not take their failure for granted.

For them, failing at one thing is a surefire guarantee that they will succeed at it the next time around.

Oprah Winfrey was once fired from her job in television. If she just gave up right there, she wouldn’t have known the kind of blessings that she enjoys today.

Don’t Believe In Luck

Make it. People with the success mindset are unusually “lucky”. Or so you think. They don’t really have magic formula; they just know how to create and take advantage of opportunities.

They prefer to focus on positive expectations rather than focusing on drawbacks. And they are not easily cowed. They are tenaciously resilient.

Always on the lookout, successful people see problems as opportunities for change. While other people see a barren land, they see a city of casinos and hotels.

Keeping a mindset that’s open to possibilities, successful people almost always find themselves in the right place at the right time.

Learn To Network

Success-oriented people recognize the value of social capital. They know that success is not a one-man operation. They surround themselves with the kind of people whose talents, skills and knowledge can complement their own.

It doesn’t matter whether they themselves are misfits or nonconformists, they know better to choose the right kind of people to work with.

Successful people align themselves with other people who think like winners and stay away from naysayers, while keeping an ear out nonetheless.

Marcian Hoff was assigned by his employer, Intel, to work with a group to design silicon chips for a hand-held calculator. They instead managed to create the microprocessor.

Have Persistence To Rise Above Your Condition

Successful people didn’t always start out on the right foot. Some, like designer Tommy Hilfiger and environment champion Erin Brockovich, suffered from learning disorders but they never let their condition or family life hinder them from making their way.

They didn’t entirely ignore their problems, but chose to focus instead on what they could do and went after it.

Case in point: Denyce Graves grew up in the ’70s in a single-parent household that could barely make ends meet. Denyce wanted to be an opera singer but there were some obstacles to her path.

She didn’t have a lot of years in training, she had to learn the foreign languages used in the operas and she was black. At the time, people didn’t think blacks could excel in opera.

Denyce instead worked harder than anyone else, even cleaned dormitories and washed pots just to pay for school. She went on to sing with Placido Domingo and won standing ovation for her debut in Bizet’s ‘Carmen’.

Seeking Spiritual Guidance

The power of the human spirit is a strange paradox. It is at once one of the strongest and at the same time the frailest things imaginable.

Spirit isn’t dictated by environment, social status, or culture. Spirit is something we all possess, and strength of spirit is something we all seek.

It shows up in various forms, from the single mother who fights a world seemingly gone hostile to keep her children safe, to police officers who avoid the temptations of corruption and power, to businessmen who choose to become philantropists and use their money and power to help others less fortunate than they are.

Spirit itself is difficult to define with any degree of true accuracy. The manifestations of spirit, however, are easier to grasp. It can be a source of strength in times of adversity, allowing us to fight on when other people would fold and give up.

It is also a fuel for our beliefs, giving us the courage to stand up for what we think and feel is right despite the pressure and stumbling blocks in our way.

Lastly, it is at the core of the most noble and altruistic parts of our nature, the part that continues to hope, and to believe that we can and should make a positive difference in the world.

Many so called gurus, priests, pastors, shamans, senseis, and other assorted self proclaimed spiritual leaders out there profess to have found enlightenment in one form or another.

Or, as the more brutal saying goes, they Sell you Salvation. The sheer volume of these people can get insanely confusing for people seeking spiritual strength and guidance, or even just plain old peace of mind.

Instead of alleviating the confusion, these people add to it more, claiming that They have a monopoly on The Truth and that All Other Ways are False.

To be blunt about it, these elitist and prejudicial belief systems don’t strengthen the human spirit; they break it and poison it by causing discord, strife, and generating false feelings of moral superiority among their members.

So where does that leave us, common people who just want a little hope, a little peace, and something to believe in?

Well, here are a few tips gleaned from far, far more reliable sources, those sources being normal people who just somehow managed to keep a smile on their faces and laughter in their hearts despite taking the brunt of the world’s efforts to run them over.

Know Yourself – you’ve got to be honest with yourself and accept yourself. Trying to fit yourself into someone else’s ideal mold never works out.

You have to see yourself honestly, both good and bad parts, and accept and love yourself despite – maybe even because of – your faults. Once you learn to like who you are and what you are, it makes it a bit easier to deal with the rest of the world more honestly.

Know What You Want – spiritual strength can take a lot of different forms, and can likewise be fed from a lot of different sources. Know what you really want to do, and what you’re really out to achieve.

Don’t be afraid to follow your path. Each victory on your road, no matter how small, serves to keep you going because you know it’s in pursuit of YOUR dream.

Victories on a road that someone or something else chose for you don’t give you strength, they give you no satisfaction and are ultimately empty.

Living By A Code
– helps a lot. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate, and can be as simple as “Never Betray another Person’s Trust”, or as elaborate as the code of Bushido followed by ancient Japanese warriors.

Whatever the case, try to find a Code to follow that suits your nature. Don’t go for a Code or belief system that epitomizes your ideal; take one that suits you as you are, with all your strengths and flaws. If no such belief system exists, make your own personalized Code, and live by it.

Find Good Companions – lastly, remember that there are no solitary trips. You don’t need a spiritual or religious brotherhood to find your way.

Find real people, real friends you can count on and trust. People who know what you’re going through, and can offer helpful advice, support, and even painful but necessary constructive criticism.

And if you’re lucky enough to find a guide, make sure your guide is a person who’s walked the walk. Never take advice from someone who’s never been where you want to go.

Why Popping Pills To Achieve Sleep’s NOT A Good Idea?

Believe it or not, there are a lot of natural ways to get the sleep that you need without ever having to take in artificial ways and means to do so, such as pills and the like.

Our bodies are really capable of healing itself if provided the opportunity to do so. Artificial methods to fast track cures are just quick fixes that temporarily mask the symptom of an even deeper cause.

Not getting enough sleep affects your whole life. Your mental, physical and emotional self could suffer.

Insomnia could actually be a symptom of a more specific medical condition that could require medical attention.

But if the reason of your inability to sleep is due to your irregular sleeping patterns or because your mind and body could not make itself settle to a state of deep relaxation, the
following are tips and advice that offer alternative if not better long term solutions to your sleeping problems.

Set Your Sleeping Routine

It is important that a regular sleeping time or routine is established so that your body will easily get used to such a pattern.

Consistency is the key. In due time, your body would – in itself – learn to naturally fall asleep on its own, and in an effortless way possible.

To be able to achieve such, it would be best if you write your action plan down. This includes the time you go to sleep and the time you wake up.

Try to stick to your sleeping routine after one to two weeks. Your body may still be adjusting, so let it. Do not feel stressed, tense or strained. Do not be discouraged.

Your objective should be that a regular sleeping schedule must be established. Try to be awake every morning at the exact same time and do not oversleep. Sleeping a lot longer during the morning will cause you to feel disoriented and groggy.

The same goes during the evening. It is also best if you try to not take naps anytime the whole day. This could confuse the ability of the body to know the difference between night sleeping and day sleeping.

Determination and perseverance goes along way to be able to have a good night’s sleep.

How was your bed last night?

Believe it or not, it is also necessary for you to take into cautious consideration your bed conditions as you slumber away.

Again, the objective is comfort. As much as possible, avoid any form of irritations that could wake you up in the middle of the night.

The mattress you are on must be firm and comfortable so you would have sufficient and firm support for your spine. Bumps and lumps should be avoided.

The bed should also be large enough for your height and built. A sagging mattress could lead to insufficient spinal support.

Pillows must suit your own personal preference. It could be firm or soft. The important thing is that it is able to provide you with proper and adequate support.

Placing a herbal sachet under the pillow you are using could also help induce sleep.

Beddings must also be clean and crisp. Leaving the sheets not tucked in at the bottom of your bed makes your feet have the feeling of freedom, this is good for sleep.

Pajamas must also be comfortable and loose. Clothing that is tight could make you feel restricted and awake in the middle of the night.

Also, the bed must only be used for sex and sleeping. Your body and mind must be able to associate only these activities to your own bed.

If you have a sleeping position that you find is your favorite, stick with it. This tells your mind that this position automatically conveys sleep, and so it will.

Ever heard of chromatherapy?

Basically, chromatherapy is where color is used to promote health and treat specific maladies (one of which is sleeping problems).

This involves some exposure to lights that have particular colors, massage through the use of oils that are saturated with color, visualization, meditation, wearing clothing with a particular color.

It has long been believed that there are colors that reflect each charka, and each emotion, organ or soul.

Red has been found to stimulate adrenal glands, pulse rate and blood pressure while white and blue brought a relaxing and calming effect.

All in all, sleeping is a necessity. Make sure that you try the tips outlined and so get ready to sleep all your troubles away.

Why Can’t I Sleep well?

First things first, what is sleep disorder?

This is where psychological and physical disturbance exists in sleep as well as in wakefulness as caused by specific abnormalities.

The patterns of sleeping of a particular animal or person is in disorder, therefore interfering with one’s emotional and mental functioning.

Diagnosis that is true and accurate could be determined via a polysomnogram or through its regular name called sleep test.

Believe it or not, there has been an estimated forty million sufferers of sleeping disorder in America alone. While an estimated twenty to thirty million in America have sleeping disorders irregularly.

It has been calculated that the yearly productivity costs in safety and health care due to sleep disorders are in billions of dollars.

There are a lot of sleep disorders, the following are some of them:

Bruxism

This is where one involuntarily grinds the teeth during sleep.

Circadian Rhythm Disorder

Believe it or not, the body is actually set in its own twenty four hour rhythm. Scientists call this circadian rhythm. This rhythm influences the body’s hormones.

These hormones play a significant role in one’s wakefulness and sleep, body temperature as well as metabolic rate.

Jet lag

A condition, albeit a temporary one, where sleep patterns become out of sync due to rapid traveling across several time zones.

DSPS (Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome)

This is a type of sleeping disorder where the circadian rhythm is affected.

Narcolepsy

This is a condition where a person spontaneously and suddenly falls asleep unwillingly. Another characteristic of this sleeping disorder is one’s overwhelming and excessive sleepiness during the day even if one has had adequate sleep during the night.

A narcoleptic suddenly and almost easily becomes sleepy, drowsy and fall asleep immediately usually during times, events and places that are inappropriate.

Parasomnias

This condition actually include various disruptive events related to sleep.

Night Terror

This sleep disorder occurs abruptly thereby awakening the sleeper with a behavior that is consistent with that of terror.

Insomnia

Believe it or not, insomnia is actually not characterized by the quantity of hours a person sleeps but on just how long a person takes to get to sleep.

All individuals have their own unique way of finding satisfaction when it comes to sleep.

Insomnia sufferers may experience problems all throughout the day like tiredness, lethargy, concentration difficulty as well as irritability.

RED (Rapid Eye Movement Disorder)

This occurs when the sleeper acts out dramatic or violent actions during deep REM sleep.

Sleep Apnea

This is a disorder that is marked by the airway’s obstruction during sleeping. This is usually accompanied by loud snoring.

Constantly loud snoring could actually indicate a disorder that could potentially be life-threatening.

One who is suffering from sleep apnea stops temporarily from breathing during sleep anywhere between ten seconds up until three minutes.

RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome)

This is an urge that proves to be irresistible that makes the legs move during sleeping. RLS is actually a disorder in one’s neurology.

Other terms that could describe this disorder include pulling, crawly, creepy, tingling, gnawing or itching.

Somnambulism (Sleep Walking)

This is where one engages on activities normally connected with being awake (such as dressing or eating). A somnambulist could walk without consciously knowing that he is doing such.

So how does one solve such sleeping disorders? Pretend that sleeping pills were not invented.

The following are some of the more natural ways and means to solve sleeping disorders.

Set A Routine Sleep Pattern

Consistency is the key. It is necessary that a regular sleeping routine is established so your body gets used to a sleeping pattern.

In due time, the body learns on how to naturally fall asleep in manner that is easy and effortless.

To be able to do this, make sure you set a regular waking up time and a sleeping time. After which, sticking to this routine for two weeks is necessary. At first, your body may still find it difficult to adjust. Relax and try not to be discouraged.

Your long term goal is to achieve a regular sleeping habit.

Make Your Bed

Comfort is the key. Avoid lumps, bumps on your beddings and blankets. Keep your sleeping abode as clean as possible. Nothing is as irritating as well as stressful than waking up or sleeping in a bed that is filthy.

All in all, sleep disorders are usually symptoms of a deeper medical condition. As much as possible, try to be aware of your own health and well-being and put taking care of yourself as priority.

P.S. If you’re keen to stop snoring, do check out this cool video here: http://www.kezooki.com/help/stopsnoringvideo

What’s Personal Power?

Power is a relative concept.

There are quite a lot of people in the world that can be termed “powerful”, but if you ask ten different people on the street who are the personalities that they consider powerful, you’ll get ten different sets of answers.

Quite frankly, power exists in many forms, and all are valid. Most people immediately equate money with power, but while seemingly similar, the two are actually quite different. Wealth just buys things. Power makes things happen.

Power, in and of itself, is not evil. Despite the many misconceptions of the general public and the hype of mass media, there’s nothing corrupting or dark about wanting to become powerful. Power, in any and all of it’s various forms, is simply a tool, and it’s how you use that power that determines whether it’s beneficient or malevolent.

If you want to become a powerful person, first you have to ask yourself a simple question. What form do you want the power to take? Unless you have a focused vision of what you want, you’ll never be able to make it happen.

Look at the people in the world that you consider “powerful” and ask youself what factors they have in common. Does their power come from having vast resources and people at their beck and call?

Or perhaps they’re the charismatic types, who are able to make people do what they want on a consistent basis. Or perhaps you’re after a more personal form of power, like possessing superb skills in a chosen field, craft, or art.

Whatever the case, you have to choose what kind of power you’re after first. Wanting to have it all is a natural reaction. Everyone wants to be rich, smart, stong, fast, tough, good looking, and have a lot of social influence. Okay, reality check here. Focus on one thing at a time or you’ll never get any of the above at all.

A good way to determine what kind of power will suit you is to know yourself. Study yourself with brutal honesty, and know your personal strengths, weaknessess, your likes and dislikes. Try to find a path that will capitalize on your strengths.

If you’re born with the gift of gab but have lousy business sense, for example, you don’t aspire to swinging big business deals.

You may be more suited for politics, or as a community leader whose main role is to inspire the people around him to achieve their best. Don’t dabble in things where you stink, just stick to what you’re good at.

Once you know what kind of power you want to achieve, the next step is to plan on how to get it. The planning and implementation stages are entirely up to you.

However, no amount of advice will ever help you come up with a plan that’s right for you. You have to work out the details for yourself, and make them happen.

There are, however, a few common traits to all powerful individuals that you should keep in mind during both planning and implementation:

Information

Knowledge is the key to power. Whatever your chosen path to power, you need information on it. Zeal and passion are NEVER enough. If wanting and wishes were sufficient to make things happen, the world would be full of “perfect” people. Do your research.

Find out how other powerful people made their way, and either emulate their methods or modify them to suit your situation. Before jumping into any action, know the environment, know the variables involved, the possible scenarios and outcomes. Make contingency plans for each. Research and study up on everything related to what you want to achieve.

Discipline & Patience

These two go hand in hand. Hard work requires discipline, and becoming powerful IS hard work, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. While there are a few lucky people out there born with natural gifts and inheritors of vast wealth, the majority of us have to earn our way up. Patience is also a prerequisite to power.

Overnight successes are prone to becoming overnight flash in the pans, too. If you want power that will last, be prepared to wait for it. Snipers and hunters are an excellent analogy for patience: they will wait literally motionless for hours on end for their targets, and they know that an impatient rifleman will miss his shots, every single time.

Drive & Effort

While it was stated earlier that wanting something is not enough to achieve it, it nonetheless helps. Passion does not convey skill, but what it does do is fuel the will and spirit to keep moving forward and striving no matter what is in your way. Setbacks and disappointments are inevitable; passion allows you to overcome them and ultimately achieve your goals.

Laws Of Manifestation Explained

There is a singular rule and metaphysical precept concerning the relationship between money and spiritual counsel. The rule is clear, and repeated in every holy work of very religion.

Money must not change hands between esoteric teacher and student. This is why all churches, Catholic, Protestant, or Synagogue, do not permit their priests, ministers, or rabbis to accept money from the parishioners. These “teachers” are supported, their needs supplied by the church, which is, itself, supported by voluntary and anonymous donations from the general public.

The money rule is not the only road map you will need on your journey down the Yellow Brick Road of metaphysics to the enchanting Oz of enlightenment. You need to also be forewarned against the loss of your own individuality by trusting those who seek to control your mind and personal intuition through a form of mass hypnosis.

Often, the initial manifestation of your quest is a series of a strange coincidences which as not coincidental at all, thus, leading you to certain books written about a variety of metaphysical subjects .

You can be led to such esoteric works in several ways. Sometimes through a chance of remark from friends and often through your own seemingly aimless but subconsciously purposeful browsing.

You will soon learn to judge yourself whether a book’s contents are misleading or wise by listening to the voice of your own Higher Self, whispering into your inner ear. You will learn to feel the messages in a short while.

Some books you may reject, and others you will inwardly know are teaching a facet of universal truth you can accept.

This is not always but usually the first step you must take alone before the manifestations of your own personal Guru, who will then impart ancient wisdom on a warm and precious one-to-one basis.

To aid you with this initial step, you must learn how to incorporate into your life the Law of Manifestations and learn the simple steps in achieving success.

In essence, Law of Manifestation exist to describe or give details on how people produce those things that their hearts desire, regardless of the means on how they will recognize them.

The very point here is that people tend to make anything that they want and not essentially the things that they need.

Hence, people do things based on the manifestations that they have, which are congruently based on the thought or suggestion of the Inner Self. This means that most of the times, people create such thoughts without consciously realizing them.

However, the Law of Manifestation contend that even if the Inner Self, which is subconscious in nature, do not necessarily know what is being desired, the created thought must still be absorbed by the subconscious mind for it to be processed and generated in real.

To claim that you are powerless to create manifestation is like owning a radio, possessing AM and FM, an ON switch, and numerous frequencies or stations and saying that there is no way you can tune in to a particular station or whatever spot on the dial you choose.

Hence, the question is: “How will you learn to apply the Law of Manifestation and gain the success that you deserve?” One of the oldest metaphysical adages is, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” This means that if your body is ready to succumb to the universal Law of Manifestation, nothing is impossible.

Here are some easy steps to prepare you in achieving success through understanding of Law of Manifestation.

1. Know what you want

2. Manifest things that are universally good

3. Personification of purity, honesty, and selflessness

4. Learn success not by seeking them, but simply by desiring their manifestations, by preparing, and being willing to wait until they appeared, wholly without you calling them.

5. Incorporate the perfect mind set.

Given these facts, you will eventually discover more fathoms of peace, wisdom, and contentment by taking the necessary steps toward manifesting an avatar who will be considering nothing but your own personal illumination.

There is no more effective resolve to follow, and in all other matters, than the affirmation of what great minds suggest, “Follow the path to enlightenment by learning the Laws of
Manifestation.”

Information Overload – Sifting Pure Gold From Fool’s Gold

Self help books are all over the world today. There are dozens, hundreds, nope, actually thousands of books written on just about every single topic imaginable.

Unfortunately for the people who actually want help, a lot of these books are usually written by quack authors who want nothing more than to capitalize on a current rave, or perhaps to have the credentials of having written a book added to their resumes.

These self proclaimed experts aren’t really out to help anyone but themselves.

So, if you want to look for a decent self help book it can get pretty overwhelming. Just by hopping over to your local bookstore you’ll suddenly find yourself confronted by shelves upon shelves of assorted books all dealing with what you want to know.

The question is, how do you find out which one will be a good selection? Here are a few time proven tips taken from the most reliable source known to the reading consumer public: other book buyers and readers themselves.

If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely isn’t – avoid books offering miracle solutions to things and the archetypical 3-Easy-Steps type of books. The best solutions are simple, and don’t require flashy titles and claims of instant results to work.

We all know what the tone of the average “sweet deal” from a salesman is like. If the book’s title and writeup take a similar tone, drop it like a hot rock, it’s all just commercialism talking.

Go for books that take a factual approach and avoid sensationalism. These types will usually yield more pertinent information on your chosen subject.

Knowledge on a subject doesn’t impart skills in teaching it – when skimming over a book, remember that intelligence and wisdom are two completely separate things. Some authors can be full of knowledge about a given subject but will royally stink when trying to teach someone about it.

Browse the book before buying it, assuming the store has open copies. Avoid books that are crammed full of information and details but are written in a haphazard fashion. The important thing is that you understand what the author is saying and can easily adapt the information given.

Being Famous in NOT an indicator of expertise – there are tons of self help books out there written by famous personalities. Unfortunately, fame does not impart skill in everything.

If you want to buy a self help book by a famous author, actor, media personality, or whatever, at least make sure that it’s a book that deals with something the person’s actually known for being good at.

For example, a cook book that’s written by a world class athlete may help you get more fit, but wouldn’t you rather get one written by a chef and dietician?

Pay special attention to authors who’ve Walked the Walk – one of the best buys you can get on a self help book is to look for ones by authors whose credentials include not only academic studies on the subject, but actual practical application on it.

If you dig deeply you’ll find that a large number of self help books are made by people who know a lot about a subject, but have never really practiced it themselves. The knowledge imparted by experience is far deeper than that of simple academic learning, and you should keep an eye out for these gems.

Background checks always help – when in doubt, check the credentials of the author first. While it’s true that most book publishers require a factual representation of the author’s credentials in the form of their degrees and other books they’ve written, there are still a few out there who take, how do we put this,

“Creative license” with their credentials. It never hurts to check on the internet and make sure that the author is as legit as the write up makes him or her out to be.

Check forums and websites – lastly, go on websites and forums and ask the opinion of other people who’ve bought the book or others like it by the same author.

You’ll likely get mixed reviews from people with varying opinions, but if you keep a good feel on the forums for who’s reliable to talk to and avoid both the psycho fanboys and the cynical flamers, you’ll wind up with a good idea of the book’s real worth.

Use The Power Of Influence & Persuasion To Improve Your Life

Ever wonder why successful people have the charisma to hold the room in thrall? Ever stood in awe as crowds pushed to be nearer a celebrity in order to see and hear them better?

Most people would call it charisma, some, the X-factor. Donald Trump has it and so does Bill Gates. Oprah Winfrey built her empire on it.

It’s called power and it has two faces: influence and persuasion. Power has a symbiotic relationship with its audience.

A man has power because he can command an audience and he can only do so because the audience allows him to, which gives the man power in the first place. Whatever it is that a powerful man can do, he can do so because his audience granted it to him.

Contrary to popular belief, power has nothing to do with control and manipulation. In fact, using these two can result to corruption and antagonism, quite the opposite of what power aims to achieve.

Power, when derived from control and manipulation can result to hostage and bribery, even deception. It can come in the form of holding information, reward, even freedom for ransom.

Influence and persuasion are two of the most basic components that run our lives, regardless of who we are.

We could be a sales professional selling a product or service, a doctor guiding his team through an operation, a construction foreman leading his crew into building a tower, a politician trying to make a difference, a parent working to make a better home, or even a student interacting with his peers.

It doesn’t matter where we are at our lives at the moment, at one time or another, we have need of influence and persuasion. We negotiate because we can persuade.

We are able to achieve things because we can influence and we don’t even have to be celebrities or business tycoons. We use influence and persuasion on a daily basis so much that we aren’t even aware of it. We use it in groceries, shopping malls, offices, parks, even over the dining table.

The gift of influence and persuasion is inherent in all of us. Some people are just adept at it because they recognize this and have worked hard in nurturing this gift. An effective way of developing it is to learn to communicate well – be able to listen with attention and understand verbal and non-verbal cues and be sensitive to the goals of the other person.

Try to learn how to negotiate mutually rewarding results. Try to see from the other person’s point of view. Be able to present your ideas clearly and concisely to let the other person see what you see, regardless of what his prejudices or biases are.

Understand that human nature is complex and very dynamic. It operates simply, but can produce complicated results.

People respond to reciprocity whether it’s good or bad. They also appreciate consistency and honesty. Knowing what makes people act can help you influence them more effectively.

People recognize the need to belong and it is this concept that has helped many influential and persuasive people make a difference by just appealing to this need.

It’s also worth to remember that people are more likely to respond to small decisions than they are to big ones. And most of all, people like appreciation – not the cheap vulgarity of flattery – but honest approval of what they are capable of.

Being able to utilize the power of influence and persuasion in our lives can make a huge difference and can get us a job, raise our income, get the assistance we need, advance our relationships and improve ourselves.

We all can’t be presidents and CEOs. In fact, most of us might be spending our lives untouched by limelight, unknown by the rest of the world. But having the ability to influence and persuade can help us improve the quality of our lives and the lives of those around us.

The power of influence and persuasion is the battery that runs our society. It builds nations and promotes peace. It encourages relationships and promotes leadership.

In fact, without influence and persuasion, the world would not be what we know of it today, and what it can still be if we only use these two correctly.

Effective Goal Setting Made Easy

The next time somebody tells you that setting goals is really a lot of hype, tell him this: if life is a journey, how will you get there if you don’t have an itinerary?

Break down a single goal into little pieces

Regardless of your goal’s size, you should have a plan of attack. Ask yourself:

  • What do I know about this?
  • What information do I have?
  • What information do I need? Where can I get it?
  • What skills do I need to master?
  • What other resources should I use?
  • Is this the best way to do it, or is there some other way?

If you start looking at a goal as something that can be approached from many sides, you will not be too intimidated by it. Plus, you will also keep a more realistic frame of mind, knowing what you are capable of and in what area you’ll need help with.

Stop procrastinating

So you’ve heard this before. Big deal. Well, it is. Time wastage is one of the greatest crimes in history. If Henry Ford put off studying and tinkering with machines for another time, someone else would have improved on automobiles and he wouldn’t have gone down in history as a pioneer.

If you’re used to procrastination, being bullheaded about a goal can seem scary at first. Try to set a schedule and then reward yourself each time you meet it.

If you like putting off reconciling your accounts, try marking your calendar for two or three days and set a time limit for each day, say 15 minutes and then spend those minutes doing nothing but reconciling your accounts.

If you don’t finish the job, no sweat – you only allotted a quarter of an hour anyway. But try to make some progress within the time frame you set. Once you condition your mind that you can actually do it within a certain time period, you won’t find it too difficult to make schedules in the future.

Start small, but keep walking

Goals don’t necessarily have to be big ones. When you set your goal too high, you might find it too overwhelming and time consuming and just give up, or make another one, just as big. It’s akin to quitting cold turkey – there are setbacks.

To make goals believable and achievable, set them in small increments, complete with time, dates, amount, some details.

If you tell yourself, “I’m going to be an opera singer” and then sit around and wait for it to suddenly happen, you could be waiting all your life. Start with singing lessons for a month, and then a year and expose yourself to opera music. You can then progress to more singing lessons year after year.

By breaking down your goals in smaller, workable units, you are more likely to make them come true. Remember, even the great ones had to start somewhere.

Be positive when stating your goals

Instead of saying, “I am not going to mess my exercise routine today,” say “I’m really busy, so I’ll probably just make time for 20 minutes on the treadmill.” Stating your goal positively will help you view it as a good thing to do, and not as a byproduct of what you had to avoid.

Spread out your goals

So maybe we do have certain general goals that apply to all areas of our lives like, “I want to be successful” or “I want to be rich” but those would seem as far away as the Niagara Falls viewed from Hawaii. Instead, try making tiny goals for different aspects of your life, one or two for each, even more if you like.

These areas are: family and home, career, social, physical, mental and spiritual. If you say, “I want to be a successful dad,” then try to make goals towards the development of your family life while still keeping an eye out for ways to improve your career and other areas of your life.

Don’t underestimate yourself

It’s tempting to sometimes just slack off, or let yourself off too easy. If you want to write the definitive American novel, then don’t try to churn out just a page or two a day when you know you are more than capable of writing five pages, even ten.

The fear of failure is sometimes to blame for setting our goals too low. How often have we said, “I don’t really want to volunteer for that project ‘cause I might screw it. And then my colleagues will make fun of me.”

Remember that some fears are unfounded. How do you know you’ll actually ruin it? And how do you know for sure your coworkers will laugh at your effort? If you try to reason with your fears, more often than not, you’ll realize that there really is no reason for you to be reluctant and that in fact, you can do it.

Write it down

Putting your goal down on paper is more than just memorizing it. You are actually confirming your willingness to make it come true. A written list of goals is also an effective reminder of what you need to do and once you’re done, a good review of your accomplishment.

Affirm it

Affirmation is really more than writing down, “I am going to buy my $750,000 home by Christmas” twenty times. It’s actually being conscious not only of your thought processes, but also of your acts during the day.

If you’re trying to save money and then you pass by a shop window where a great pair of shoes seems to have your name on it, think, “If I buy those shoes, would I be making my goal of saving easier? Will I be able to meet my deadline if I splurge just this once? A few months from now if I don’t meet my deadline because I didn’t save enough, would I feel good about it?”

Small decisions can have a great impact on you working towards your goal. Remember that your goals are your roadmap to success in life. Without them, you can lose your way.

Although you can always retrace your steps, you might not have the time, opportunity, energy or resources you once had when you could have made your goals happen one by one.

Insomnia: 5 Easy Tips To End Your Frustration

Insomnia is a common sleep sickness that has bothered many people around the world. But the consequences brought about by this disorder may not be as ordinary as it may seem. It can be downright punishing.

You know the frustration of looking repeatedly at your clock while endlessly moving around in your bed. It’s mental and emotional agony to say the least. The tension builds up to its peak when you see the sunrise, and you have to go to the office lacking so much energy after spending a sleepless night.

You don’t have to suffer anymore. Here are some tips to help you snooze faster than you could ever expect.

1) Wake up and go to bed at the same time every day, even during the weekends. Some insomniacs tend to sleep at any time of the day to catch up on some sleep they lose during the night. Now this is the biggest mistake you can make. It ruins your body clock and will only worsen your insomnia. If you can’t sleep one night, get up the usual time the next morning. You’ll be sleeping soundly like a baby the next night.

2) Don’t eat within 4 hours before you go to bed. If in case you went hungry, try some crackers or light snack. But don’t indulge in an “eat-all-you-can” feast right before bedtime. Your food won’t be digested well, resulting in poor and uncomfortable sleep.

3) Don’t drink caffeine or alcohol. Caffeine can obstruct your ability to sleep. Alcohol can make you drowsy, but it can wake you up in the middle of the night and bring you side effects that will hinder a continuous sleep process.

4) Relax and stay fit. Avoid having a stressful lifestyle. Exercise daily to release tension. Engage in breathing exercises to relax your body. Most important of all, don’t carry your problems or emotional baggage to sleep with you. Forget about it for the mean time. You can go back and solve your dilemma better the next day after a restful sleep.

5) Never force yourself to sleep. Trying your best to sleep requires some work. You don’t want to work when you want to doze off. Sleep comes best if you are in a relaxed and comfortable state. Just lie down, relax, and let the sleeping fairy cast its spell upon you.

What Is The Right Action That Leads To Your Ultimate Goals?

What is the right thing I need to do to bring forth my desires? What actions do I need to take Now? Am I doing the right thing or the wrong thing? These are the questions that most of us constantly ask ourselves in the mind. Most of the time, we are asking unconsciously. We are constantly judging what we are doing, because we are afraid of making mistakes.

Let me now show you how to choose the right action that will lead you to your ultimate goals. First of all, let’s discuss …

The root of all procrastination

Very often, people tell me “I have studied all the theories of success and read all the self improvement books, but I still don’t know what to do.” Then they end up doing nothing, and getting no results. No matter how many books you read, how many tapes you listened to, and how many seminars you attend, if you don’t take any action, you won’t have any result. Action creates result. You can’t change this fact. Inaction leads to endless procrastination, and ultimately, leads to failure.

You must understand that no matter how bad the situation is, you can always take some action to improve it right now, even just a little improvement. If you can’t imagine how to make 1 million dollars, just make a commitment to make 100 dollars first. You might have heard of this phrase “CANI”.

It represents constant-and-never-ending-improvement. Success is a journey, not a destination. This journey is about improvement.

As long as you are making some kind of improvement, you are leading to success. Now you know you need to take some kind of actions, then…

What is the right action?

The answer is to ask your intuition. Your intuition will never fool you because it is the message from the higher intelligence. Your intuition always knows what is right and what is wrong.

Do you remember when I said that feelings and emotions are the language of the universe? They are also the messages from the higher intelligence of the universe. When you feel a positive emotion, the universe is telling you that you are doing well, keep on doing; When you are receiving a negative emotion, the universe is warning you that you are not aligned with your ultimate purpose, or life mission. You need to correct your action.

This is the way the universe communicates with you. Before taking any action, ask yourself ” How will this make me feel once I have accomplished this action?” Most of the time, your intuiting will give you immediate feedback, you either receive a positive or negative emotion.

Listen to your intuition, and do what makes you feel good, don’t worry about making mistakes, because…

Everything is in its divine order

One of the most stubborn road block to success is fear of failure, or fear of making mistakes. To completely remove this road block, you must accept a belief that everything is in divine order. Look back at your life of the past 10 years. Did you make any mistakes?

Sure you did, but without that mistake, would you have the life you are living now? If you can look deeply, you will find that mistake had inevitably created some coincidence that leads to your present life.

There is always a connection between everything happening in your life. That mistake is part of your life journey that should not be missed, then why did you worry at that time? After my university entrance examination, I did not get a chance to join an old brand university that I loved very much.

Most people that know me felt pity for me, but I did not care, I joined a university of my second choice. Just one month after joining that university, I was offered a scholarship to study abroad in a much better university than my first choice university. Best of all, I did not spend a single dime on my tertiary education, even my everyday spending was covered by that scholarship.

I would never have had this chance if I had joined my first choice university. Is this only a coincidence? I don’t believe that, I believe everything is in its divine order, in my life, nothing ever goes wrong. If you want more of this kind of coincidence happen in your life, repeat this everyday when you feel doubt.

“Everything is in its divine order; in my life, nothing ever goes wrong” To sum up, you need to make a small improvement every day. Before taking any action, think of the feelings it will bring to you, and make the right choice based on your feelings.

Then just do it, and believe you are doing the right thing because everything is in divine order.

How To Be A Problem-Solving Superstar

Did you know that you can transform a problem into something wonderful? Here’s a story to help you understand how you are responsible for your success, no matter how many problems you have.

Once, there were 2 brothers who grew up in a poverty-stricken environment. They barely have food to eat every day, and sometimes they have to beg in order to survive. Their father died a long time ago, while their mother’s income can barely feed them.

One day, the older brother went far away to search for greener pastures. He said he’ll be back to help his family. He strived and persisted.

He found a good job and worked part-time while studying. Until one great day, he graduated with honors. He was immediately hired by a large company and became one of the top lawyers in that area in a short span of time.

He went home one day, eager to tell his family of the good news, and surprise them with his accomplishments. At last, he can give them a good life, he thought.

When he arrived home, his mother was weeping. Alas! While he’s away, his younger brother joined a group of thieves and became a drug addict. “Your brother is wanted by the police. We haven’t seen him for many weeks now,” his mother sadly told him.

It was interesting to note how the 2 brothers’ identical situation motivated them to do what they did.

The older brother used his situation to motivate him to succeed. He said, “Because of my situation, I was forced to persist and do all that I can to help my family. Who knows if I’ve not become very poor before? I might not have the fire inside me to attain what I have now.” He believed that he can create his own destiny. No matter how difficult the circumstances, he believed that he has the capacity to do the right thing in reaching his goals.

The younger brother used his situation as an alibi to become bad. He was finally caught and was asked why he did those crimes. He said, “Because of my poor situation, I’m forced to become a criminal. If only I’ve enough money, I would have been a good person.” He believed that he received what destiny threw at him, and it is his fate to become a criminal.

Now if you have a problem, would you be like the older brother or the younger one?

The choice is yours. Your success does not depend on the type of life you have, but on the way you handle or utilize your current situation to your advantage.

Editor’s Comment:

Step-By-Step Guide To Manifest Your Desires

I have been talking about manifestation for a long time. My intention is to make people be aware of the unlimited power they have been given since the moment they were born and hopefully I can help to awaken their inner potential to get them connected back to the source of creation.

What I believe is that how much success, happiness and fulfillment you experience in life is exactly proportional to your level of awareness. Our whole purpose in life is to be awakened to the highest level of awareness sometimes called enlightenment. The only job for us in life is just to bring up our level of awareness through the experience of learning, working and living.

The fastest way to bring anything from the unseen world to the physical world is through the study of Universal Laws. We should study all the time, not just one time. We must make sense from these laws, and make them a part of our daily thinking, make them a part of us. Once this happens, you are truly enlightened. There is no more struggle in your life, your life becomes an easy and stress free process of creation.

You simply ask, and you are given, you simply give and you receive more. However, you may understand it, but not know it. Knowing and understanding are two different things.

Understanding is from your conscious mind, but knowing is from your super-conscious mind, which is connected to the highest intelligence of the universe. In order to truly know these laws, you must remind yourself again and again. You must study them, think about them, remind yourself all the time, until they become your second nature. Then, enlightenment will happen.

I have noticed that many people read my articles about universal principles, but few people know how to use them, so I have designed a step by step guide to help you use these principles to manifest anything you desire.

Here it is…

Step One: Define your major goals clearly. If you don’t know what you want, the universe can’t help you. State clearly what you desire, state it specifically. Writing your goal in a form of intention seems always to help.

Example “I intend to earn $20,000 per month.” “I intend to attract my soul mate into my life.”

Step Two: Design a good affirmation for each of your goals. Your affirmation must believable, and must state the truth. It always helps to use emotional triggering words. example “I choose to manifest $100,000 dollars Now. I accept this or something better” Using the words “I choose” will add extra believability to your affirmation.

Always add, “I accept this or something better” to your affirmation. You will be amazed how much more you will get. By using the word Now, you trigger your power of creation, because Now is the only time that exists, and the only time you can execute your power of creation. Now is the only time that manifestation occurs. By saying “NOW”, you are stating the truth.

Don’t fool yourself by saying, “but I don’t see the $100,000?”. What you see you currently possess is an illusion, you already have the $100,000 in the energy level, you are stating the truth.

Step three: Program the affirmations into your subconscious mind. Once your subconscious mind accepts the affirmation as a truth, creation happens automatically. You’ve heard that your consistent thoughts become your reality.

Affirmation is one of the most powerful ways to make something you desire become your consistent thought. To make your subconscious mind quickly accept your affirmation as a truth, you have to patiently convince it by telling it the truths again and again. Here is the truth you must remind yourself every time you say your affirmation.

At the deeper level, I am connected to the highest intelligence in the universe that has created and will be creating everything in the physical world. Therefore, I have the power to create everything I desire at anytime.

I am the source of everything. Now I choose to see my desires manifested in my world.”

Step 4: Monitoring your thoughts moment by moment, and keep the state of being. The mind always has a tendency to think negatively, this is the nature of human beings, it is the result of human evolution.

The Fastest Way to Achieve Impossible Dreams

When we were young, we had many dreams, we never thought anything was impossible, we were not afraid to dream anything. However, when we grew up, we slowly began to lose our dreams, we started to accept the “REALITY”.

We began to accept the constraints and the limitations of this world. We know that there are certain things we can’t do, and there are certain things we can’t achieve. Did you really think about where these thoughts of impossibility came from? Who told you “You Can” or “You Can’t”? I think you know the answer, nobody told you, you told yourself.

It is the little voice inside you who said constantly to you that you can’t do something, and you always believe what it says. This little voice is your ego, it’s meant to protect you from dangers. However its only reference point is your past, it makes every judgment by referring to your past experiences.

Therefore, everything it told you is based on your past experiences, not reality. Instead of letting your ego control you, you should learn to control your ego by knowing that what your ego tells you is not the reality.

and …

**The reality is “There is no reality”**

Scientists no longer claim that they know the reality. In fact, this world is an unpredictable world. We were told in high school that electrons circle around nucleus in an certain orbit, we were also told that they can jump from one orbit to another when it releases energy. However, what we were not told is when these changes happens.

The fact is nobody knows. For one moment, an electron is in orbit A, for the next moment, it will be in orbit B. The electron does not travel the space between these two orbits, changes happen spontaneously. This is sometimes called quantum leaps. However scientists do not know when and where a quantum leap will occur.

Put it into other words, we don’t know where an electron is located at any given moment of time. How can we claim to know the reality. Since there is no reality, then…

**What we see is only our perception**

Since we were young, many things we were told to be true are not true at all, many things we thought were reality, are not reality at all, and many things we were told impossible are not really impossible. I remember the first time I went to Anthony Robbins’s seminar.

I heard of this thing called breakthrough. I heard it’s about turning the impossible into the possible. I also wanted to experience a breakthrough. Then I decided to go for the Anthony Robbins’s famous “Fire Walk”. I heard a lot about fire walk before I went to the seminar.

I thought there were some tricks, and maybe the “Fire Walk” is just a metaphor, it is not real fire. But when I went to the seminar, I realized there was no trick here. I had to walk on real fire. “How could this be possible?” , “Isn’t that crazy to walk on hundreds of degrees of fire without wearing anything on your feet? The only voice in my head was “Impossible”, but when I saw so many people walking across the fire without burning, my little voice become quieter. and I wanted to try.

When I walked to the fire, I just heard Tony say, “GO..”, then a few seconds later, I was standing on the other side of the fire. “Oh my goodness, I did it!!!” How could that be possible? but it indeed is possible. >From then on, “Fire Walk” has become fairly easy and enjoyable, and I did it again and again. My perception of fire walk has totally changed.

Change your perception ,change your reality. However, where does our perception come from in the first place?

**Your perception is exactly equal to your level of awareness**

We all have had these kinds of experiences when at one time a task seems very hard, and some time later it becomes very easy. If you are a student, you will find that a problem is very difficult to solve, then you put it aside for some time, and the next time you try to solve it, it becomes extremely easy.

You wonder why you could not solve it in the first moment. The problem does not change, the only change is your level of awareness. You are now thinking at a higher level. Life is about growth, it’s about discovering the highest level of awareness, or the highest law of the universe.

Some people seem very “Lucky”, they easily find the truth, and live by it, so that they can enjoy a stress free life that is designed for them, while others spend their entire lives not finding the truth or the laws of the universe, therefore, they have no chance to experience higher levels of awareness where the true peace exists.

I don’t want to talk too much about the universal laws here, because I have discussed quite a lot in my other articles. By now I think you already know what is the fastest way to achieve your impossible dreams.. Yes, it is…

**Change your perception and accept your dreams as your reality**

Since the reality is only your perception, why not choose your dreams as your reality.

If you can make this shift of perception, your dreams will become very easy to achieve, it is just like the difficult problem you could not solve before. The easiest way to make this shift is to act as if your dream has already come true. This will give your ego new reference, and convince it that your dreams are possible.

Now, you have the control over your ego. Pretend to be an actor, act the role of your desires, and you will quickly see your dreams manifested in your life.
