3 Keys To Fall Asleep Fast (& Wake Up Energetic)

This article is kindly brought to you by Yan Muckle, publisher of SleepTracks.

1) There is a deadly trap most people who can’t fall asleep succumb to. And that is to tell themselves:

“I feel so tired, I’ll take it easy today. Where is my chair?”

Everybody has this kind of thought, it’s normal. You feel tired so you don’t want to spend more energy than you need to. But the problem is that to have energy, you first have to spend some!

Why is that? Partly because of the body temperature cycle wave. When you move your body vigorously, your body temperature goes up. Your whole body-mind gets aroused, and consequently you feel more alert, more alive, more energetic.

AND you’ll also sleep better after that. Not just because you spent energy and your body needs to recuperate, but also because you increased the amplitude of your body temperature cycle wave.

Since exercising made it go higher, it will go lower when night comes. It’s like a pendulum: the more it sways on one side, the further it’ll go on the other side.

2) Here’s a simple formula: Level of activity + time awake + level of relaxation = sleep quality.

Your level of activity plus the time you’ve been awake plus the degree to which you’re relaxed will equal to the quality of sleep you’ll experience. Increase any of those 3 factors and you’ll increase the soundness of your sleep - and lower the time it takes you to fall asleep.

One of the reasons why exercising with some intensity improves your sleep is because of the wear and tear associated with it.

Exercising stress your muscles and your overall system - and the body compensates by making you sleep deeper, longer. During deep sleep, growth hormone is released and the body is deeply engaged in repairing and rejuvenating itself.

What is even better is to perform those physical activities outside, where you can expose yourself to sunlight.

3) Athletes’s brains have one thing that most insomniacs don’t have. The brain of athletes exhibit a lot of a specific brainwave range in the beta group.

This range is called SMR, for sensory motor rhythm. Scientists think they’re involved in the control of arousal states, energy levels, and also of inhibiting movement during sleep.

Strangely, most insomniacs (and also people who suffer from ADHD) have a huge deficiency of this brainwave band.

It has been found that increasing SMR generally results in deeper sleep and more energy throughout the day.

The Insomnia Buster track in the SleepTracks Sleep Optimization Program has been designed to remove this deficiency by stimulating the brain in the SMR range.

But I bet you’re already thinking of another way you could enhance SMR production, aren’t you? Of course. Exercising, moving your body would help tremendously.

You don’t have to spend 2 hours in the gym. Taking a brisk 30-minute walk in the morning would do the trick - with the added bonus of exposing yourself to full daylight.

Hope you enjoyed this article, for further details, check out SleepTracks.

7 Simple Secrets Of Naturally Lucky People

We’ve all seen people who are just naturally lucky.

They’re the ones who manage to sail through life with more unexplainable “lucky breaks” and fewer disappointments than
most people get. Success just seems to come easier for them.

Where most folks have to struggle just to get ahead, lucky people regularly have opportunities just plop down in their
laps. Of course, they work hard, but that doesn’t fully explain the special treatment that life seems to reserve for them.

It almost appears that they were born with the proverbial silver spoon in their mouths. Or born under a luckier star than most mere mortals.

Well, cheer up; neither stars nor spoons are at work here. All they have is seven simple secrets.

These secrets are easy little things that you can begin applying in your own life. And when you do, things will start to change for you.

Your career will begin to blossom n unexpected ways. And one day you’ll realize that now everyone has started calling you naturally lucky, too.

Ready to command more luck in your life? Here are the 7 simple secrets of naturally lucky people…..

Secret #1: Lucky People Don’t Believe In Luck

I recently interviewed 10 unusually successful business people for a book I was writing about the role luck plays in the lives of successes.

Nearly every one of them stated plainly they don’t believe in luck.

In the next breath, however, they told about unending streams of “serendipitous” or “synchronistic” events that routinely happen in their daily lives.

I believe they don’t like the word “luck” because it implies there’s no way to control it. They’ve learned that there is.

If you prefer to call it serendipity or synchronicity rather than lucky, that’s okay. The message here is not which term to use. It’s about what you can do to get these kinds of things happening for you.

When they do happen, you can call them anything you want.

I’ve chosen to use the word “luck” because when I say it, people have a fair idea of what I mean. I try to avoid radical new terms when we’ve already got a perfectly good word.

If someone walked up to you and said, “I help people learn to cause pleasant improbabilities to occur more frequently,”
you’d probably look around for the exit.

On the other hand, when I use the word “luck,” you and I are in the same ball park, concept-wise.

It’s okay if our definitions differ slightly. This happens to us all the time anyway. Ever seen a husband and a wife agree on what “shopping” means? Or “one hour”?

Most of the time, even though there are differences, we’re close enough for useful communication.

And that’s what we’re doing here. As you read, you’ll gradually find that my definition of luck includes a steering wheel and an accelerator pedal.

Secret #2: “Bad” Stuff Happens To Them Too

There are several ways to have good luck. The most common (and the most useful) is to find opportunities in problems.

A friend of mine says: “There’s always a miracle in a mess.” Let’s say you and I are neighbors, and our whole city has a common problem.

Maybe it’s infestation with insects. Or it could be a serious pollution problem from a nearby plant.

While almost everyone is griping and complaining about the problem, you might decide: “Hey, if I can solve this problem, it will help my neighbors, and it can also make a profit for me.”

Your neighbors only saw the problem, but you looked deeper and found an opportunity.

All great fortunes have been built upon solving great problems. From the huge railroad empires of the 19th century, to the communications networks of the 20th, and now the software giants of the 21st, they have all solved problems for people.

Was Andrew Carnegie “lucky” that he foresaw a huge need for steel in the 1800s? Some say he was.

But I say he simply knew how to recognize a widespread need and turn it into a giant opportunity.

The same is true of Bill Gates. Many people criticize Gates for his business practices, but whatever else you believe (either way) about the man, you have to admit, he saw an opportunity before most others did, and he acted.

That’s probably the most common and the most controllable way to generate your own luck.

Secret #3: More People Quit Than Lose

If you knew ahead of time without a doubt that your success was guaranteed, how much would you go out and do?

Would it make any difference in the kind of things you would attempt? How much higher would you direct your aim?

Well, a funny thing happened to me a few years back. I was sitting and feeling sorry for myself one day because of all
the failures that I had been through.

Then it suddenly occurred to me that one particular case hadn’t been a real failure. I admitted to myself (reluctantly) that I had simply quit too soon. I had quit before I’d really had a chance to fail.

Then I thought of another non-failure. Then another.

And before long, I was buried under an avalanche of similar cases. In fact, I couldn’t think of a single time when I had actually kept on trying long enough to fail.

In other words, I had never experienced failure in my entire lifetime.

Only quitting. A realization like that will realign your reality.

After that, it’s hard to consider yourself a failure because you’ve never failed. Who knows what you might really be, down inside?

I began to wonder: what would have happened if I had stuck with even a few of those situations just a little longer? What if I hadn’t been quite so ready to quit?

More to the point, what about today and tomorrow? What if I stopped being so ready to throw in the towel and surrender too soon? Would I start seeing the number of clear successes in my life begin to grow?

The more I played with that idea, the better it sounded.

I’d like to report to you that my life instantly and dramatically changed that day, but it didn’t.

Oh, it did BEGIN changing, but it wasn’t the dramatic turnabout that you read of in books or see in movies.

Instead, each time I’d find myself in a discouraging situation, I’d start thinking of all those times I had just simply quit trying too soon.

And gradually, over time, I began developing a new mental toughness that didn’t take temporary setbacks quite so seriously.

I started finding a new resourcefulness within myself. My “keeping-on” average began to go up, and my “failure” average started declining.

I count that one realization among the most important in my life. Not because it solved a problem, but because it identified one.

Once I could see that the problem wasn’t even what I thought it was, I was then able to work on doing something else
instead.

And you know what? My luck began improving.

Secret #4: Betting On Losing Hands Makes Losers

Successful poker players don’t play every hand they’re dealt.

If you keep count, the hands they fold far outnumber the hands they hold.

That’s because a good card player knows the odds for every possible card combination. They know whether a flush beats a full house and which is more likely to occur.

And they only bet their money on likelihoods. They love to play with amateurs because amateurs play for “the juice,” the emotional charge they get from throwing money out on the table, whether they win or lose.

Good players don’t bet on risk, they bet on probability.

Lucky people are very similar. They know longshots when they see them, and they may bet, but it’s a calculated bet.

Lucky people are some of the most tenacious people on earth when it’s appropriate.

But they’re also some of the quickest quitters when the odds don’t favor them.

In fact, they’ll usually opt out of most situations before they even begin because they have learned to recognize and rank opportunities.

What makes a good opportunity?

  • First, does it solve a WIDESPREAD problem?
  • Second, do the people with the problem have enough money to pay for solving that problem?
  • Third, is it easy to reach the people with the problem?
  • Fourth, is the solution a really good one?

If they don’t find all four factors, a lucky person will walk away because they know it’s a losing hand, no matter how much they personally love the idea.

So if a lucky person sees he’s holding a losing hand, he quits quickly and cuts his losses.

Secret #5: Most Good Luck Comes Through Other People

Good luck almost never happens in a vacuum.

Several years back I read a book by Max Gunther titled “The Luck Factor.”

Most of the details in that book have dimmed, but I’ve never forgotten the core idea: Most lucky breaks are brought to
you by other people.

Few people find significant amounts of money on the street or buried in the backyard. Perhaps even fewer win lotteries.

Instead, luck comes more often in the form of opportunities. You’re with a group of ladies (or guys) who are sitting around complaining about how it’s hard to find respectable men (women) to date.

Everybody is really getting into the problem.

The person next to you leans over and whispers, “Don’t you wish everyone would just quit whining?”

But instead of complaining about all those complaints, a little lightbulb clicks on in your head. You realize a good computerized screening service for romantic introductions would fill a real need here.

You don’t say anything, but weeks later, when you announce the new service, and you’re flooded with calls from singles all over the city wanting safer introductions.

All your friends whisper, “She’s so lucky. Where did she get that great idea?”

You know where the idea came from, but you’re not telling.

A great deal of “good luck” is manually created out of discomfort often someone else’s.

Secret #6: Good Luck Favors Those Who Have Prepared

Let’s say you’re appearing in an amateur play in a little theater in your neighborhood.

A big-name producer from Hollywood is visiting a sick relative, hears about the play, and for a bit of distraction decides to attend.

She sees a spark of something special in your performance, asks to meet you, and offers you a screen test.

Okay, freeze the frame for a second…..

  • Are you prepared for this big break?
  • Have you done all the study and the practice and the foundation work it takes to be a professional?
  • Will you have the technique and the skills necessary to do the job?
  • Or are you going to try and fake your way through it?

If you’re prepared, you’re likely to do well. This means a giant step toward your dreams. And if you’re not prepared… well, good luck with your day job.

Secret #7: You Can Attract Good Things, Too

All this talk about finding opportunities in “bad” events and developing your skills is important, but there’s a more sunny side to luck as well.

Internet entrepreneur Joe Vitale terms it his “Magic Escalator through Life,” and award-winning author John Harricharan has titled it “The Power Pause.”

I interviewed both of these men, as well as eight other fascinating people, about how they manage to stay so consistently successful.

Every single one of them has techniques for keeping their mind tuned to the things they want. And they attend to this “mind tuning” every day.

They’re not casual about this. Oh no, they put regular effort into it. Their successes and their luck are not accidents.

If you’re tempted to greet this with a dismissive, “Oh yeah, I’ve read those positive thinking books,” then you need to think again.

Yanik Silver, a highly successful entrepreneur on the internet tells how he starts every single morning with a 15-minute session in which he goes over his “values and goals.”

Every morning - no exceptions.

Stacey Hall and Jan Brogniez go even further. They teach their clients to attract what they’ve labeled “Your Perfect Customers.”

In every case, they start with their thinking. What they put into their mind has a direct one-to-one relationship to what
appears in their life.

The hardest part of Secret #7?

Taking responsibility for the bad stuff in your life.

If you’ve got uncomfortable situations right now, you’ll never have the power to change them until you accept the fact that you created that mess… exactly as it is right now.

Admit to yourself that you created your own problems, down to the last tiny detail, and only then will you take command of the power to change those problems.

Fortunately, it’s not as impossible as it sounds at first.

Your mind is like a bucket. If the bucket is filled with muddy water, all you have to do is start a steady flow of clear, fresh water into the bucket.

Soon, the bucket (or your mind) is filled with clear, fresh contents.

Steady daily input of clear, fresh thoughts will change the things that appear in your life, without the need for major renovation. It just happens. You work on the inside, and the outside takes care of itself.

This means you don’t fight the old thoughts. You give them minimum energy. You don’t resist, you don’t struggle.

Instead, you put your attention as much as possible on the good things you want to appear in your life.

The lucky things you spend your time thinking about just start happening for you, and one day you wake up and realize, “Hey, I’m a pretty lucky person now. When did that happen?”

Does this mean you won’t ever have to make any hard decisions, or deal with any stressful people?

No, but you’ll find yourself handling difficult decisions and fussy people more easily because you’ll have a clearer vision of what lies on the other side, after you’ve gotten past them.

They just won’t loom so large in your path any more.

So these are the 7 secrets that naturally lucky people use to keep their life moving forward:

  • They don’t believe in (or wait around for) random luck.
  • They take charge of generating their own luck.
  • They look for the opportunity that’s always embedded in life’s inconveniences.
  • They don’t quit when they’re holding a potentially winning hand.
  • They drop a losing hand as quickly as possible. And they know the difference.
  • They polish their people skills constantly because most opportunities are brought to us by others.
  • They develop a wide range of professional skills so they’re prepared for any opportunity to knock.
  • They fill their mind with thoughts of what they want, because they know they get what they fill their mind with,
    WHATEVER that is.

Other than these 7 simple things, however, naturally lucky people don’t do anything special at all.

This article was written by, Charles Burke, the author of “Command More Luck,” a book offering powerful suggestions for getting more cooperation from life, luck, and your own mind.

Whether you call it synchronicity, serendipity, or just plain old luck, you CAN become more “naturally lucky.”

Everybody’s Favorite Story - Underdog Overcomes The World

Did you notice that many of the blockbuster movies are those that feature underdogs who overcome the odds to come out victorious? Doesn’t those stories motivate you everything you watch them?

Most of them of them are purely fiction but what if I told you that I found a TRUE story of a real person, a juvenile misfit who got kicked out of school & became a millionaire at age 26?

I’m talking about Adam Khoo…..

He was expelled from school at 8 years old, not only was he poor in studies, he was also physically weak and mentally lethargic. he had poor social skills, he was bored, indifferent and soon he was labeled as a ‘problem student’.

He Was A Total Abject Failure Until…

He discovered mentors that inspired, stimulated and challenged him to adopt a new belief about himself. He decided to adopt the belief that ‘if it is possible for others, it would be possible for me, it’s just a question of strategy’.

He then set 3 ‘impossible’ goals for himself & guess what - within a year, he was among the top ten students in his school, within 3 years, he was the #1 student in his school in the Cambridge ‘O’ Level exams, he then qualified for the #1 Junior College in Singapore, Victoria Junior College. He later went on to the National University of Singapore, which is one of the top 20 universities in the world, and within a year, I found myself on the dean’s list and ranked among the top 1% of students in the entire country!

He started his first business when he was 15. It was a mobile disco which later grew into an event management company. He started his second business (training and consultancy) when he was 21 and started investing in property and stocks when he was 22.

Within two years of graduating from university, at the age of 26, he had created a net worth of $1.2 million, was running two successful businesses and commanded up to $2,000 an hour in speaking fees.

Then I Started To Think….. If A Total Abject Failure Can Do It, Why Can’t You & I?

That’s right. If a loser like him could accomplish so much in such a short time, why can’t you or anybody achieve the same level of success? Maybe because you were never given the right strategies to create financial freedom and wealth for yourself.

You see, I know you are sick and tired of all the nonsense that’s thrown at you by all these websites that claim that you can retire young and rich and all you have to do is to just buy their ebook or software.

Ever wonder whether these people behind these websites actually know a thing about making money first or are they just making money off you by selling their ‘Get Rich’ ebooks? You never know, can you?

What I’m about to share with you is common sense. It is all about taking the same steps and strategies that successful people have already taken to become rich. It is all about a question of strategy.

You see I know you’re looking for the real deal. And what I can say to you is that this guy, Adam Khoo, is already a successful multi-millionaire and he run 3 brick-and-mortar businesses with a combined annual revenue of $20 million. He’s also the best-selling author of four books and he make half of his money through his investments.

The point I want to make to you is that he made his money first, before he ever taught anyone how to start earning their first million bucks.

Click here to read the full story now…..

Because you are going to discover the exact methods he used to create this level of financial success and how you can learn the same fool-proof steps to financial freedom… without having to turn your life upside down to get it!

4 Biggest Myths Conventional Self Improvement Gurus Teach

Oh man! Not another self-help book! Not another self-help audio! What? Another Coaching program? Fire walking, glass walking stunts!

Sometime ago, I was looking at my HUGE messy shelf which is packed full of self help books, audio programs & seminar notes from the various seminars & coaching programs I’ve attended over the past years….. That’s not all, there are some more audio programs in the boot of my car & more than 5GB of audio in my mp3 player.

What’s wrong with the conventional self-help theories and techniques that well-meaning self-Help Guru’s, motivational experts and success coaches have been telling you for the past 70 over years?

If goal setting, positive thinking, daily affirmations, self talk, dream building, visualization, chanting, fire walking & many other “Techniques” self-help gurus preach actually worked….. Then why are they failing miserably for you?

Let’s scrutinize the 4 biggest myths that conventional self-help gurus teach…..

Myth #1: Goal Setting

How many times have you looked at your list of goals you wrote down on a piece of paper and 8 out of 10 of them did NOT happen? How do you feel about you?

Usually I hear negative commente like, “I feel like a failure”, “I feel bad.” “I must not have what it takes.” “What’s wrong with me?” Doesn’t this sound very discouraging to you?

Myth #2: Daily Affirmations

This stuff does make you feel good, right? You feel good about yourself for doing something but the end result, unfortunately, is still nothing or maybe even worse….. you feel bad about yourself on top of the failure.

Daily affirmations have become a process of lying to yourself! By not dealing with the truth you will instantly be on the wrong path and failure is a foregone conclusion. 2 +2 is never 5, no matter how many times you say it. The truth will, indeed, make you free. But you have to know it first. Affirmations can not and do not make you successful.

Myth #3: Self-Help Material

Self-help manuals are full of techniques that promise you the world yet 95% or more of the people who read them never experience the results they are promised and expect.

Myth #4: Visualization

Visualizing is very much like affirmations.

Have you ever gotten something without doing daily affirmations and visualization? Of course you have. Me too. It’s not exercises like these that cause success! It is something much simpler, once you know what it is and how to unleash it you can be unstoppable.

You probably asking the same question as me:
If none of these techniques work, then why do people teach them? And why do they seem to work for some people and not others?

I found someone who’s different from most of these so-called gurus, who shared these simple truths with me. This guy that I’m talking about has powerful credentials, such as:

  • Being awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit by President George Bush
  • Being honored by the United States Senate for teaching Americans how to achieve better results in their life or their career.
  • Selected by Winners Digest, a publication for Fortune 500 executives, as one of the two most effective speakers in the U.S.
  • Voted one of the top two speakers of the decade by the international publication, Motivational International, which focuses on self-help and motivational concepts.
  • Personally endorsed by many of the top leaders in numerous Network Marketing companies.
  • Given the status of Honorary Citizen by the Mayors of 15 major cities in the U.S.

His training resource is the hottest new introduction in the history of Nightingale-Conant, the same company who sells resources from Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins and many other world famous speakers and trainers.

I’m talking about…………….. Jack Zufelt. His system is called ,”The DNA of Success System“.

The good news is that you have already used it many, many times before so you are actually already familiar with it. It’s an integral part of you. You were born with it! That’s why the reason why it’s named ,”The DNA of Success System”.

RAVE REVIEW #1:
“The DNA of Success System” is a masterpiece about the true cause of achievement. Jack Zufelt successfully challenges the standard concepts about success, demonstrates that we all have the DNA of success embedded within our hearts and souls, and then shows how to pull it out and use it to create any level of success you want.”

~ Jack Canfield, co-author of the #1 New York Times bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul series and many other best-selling books.

RAVE REVIEW #2:
Focal Point“The DNA of Success System” is wonderful, uplifting, and inspiring… full of practical wisdom and guidance you can use to achieve all your goals.”

~ Brian Tracy, author of Focal Point and countless of best-selling books

So how can giving up and eating those old nasty foods that led you to where you were be a good thing? Commit to the long haul and you will learn the greatest secret to success with weight loss. (And anything else for that matter)

WARNING: DO NOT BEGIN TO EXERCISE UNTIL YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR EATING HABITS, DOING SO MAY CAUSE YOU TO STRESS OUT AND QUIT BOTH.

I recommend you have 2 or 3 weeks of eating right under your belt until you begin exercising. That way you’ve already adjusted your lifestyle and exercising won’t be such a shock, it’ll be the next logical step in your journey.

Exercise breaks into two main categories:

Cardio

I have selected two links that talk more in depth about each aspect, make sure to go to those pages for more detailed information. This article is broader and focuses on getting you started, I’ll let these other sites get into more detail on the specifics.

Both Cardio and Weight Training are important and vital to healthy living. I suggest you join a gym or get some free weights and a treadmill. I lift weights 3 times a week and do cardio 3 times a week.

I also attempt to play sports at least 1 night a week if not 2. Racquetball has become one of my new favorite past times, you should play it sometime, trust me, it’s a lot of fun!

If you think you can’t afford a gym you can at least begin by jumping rope, walking around the block, always taking the stairs, jumping on a trampoline, etc. Doing anything is better than doing nothing.

8) Don’t Be Afraid To Eat Out.

If you ate out before you began your new eating habits, odds are you’ll still want to eat out. So what’s the best thing to do? Keep on eating out by all means! If you don’t you’ll never make it. When you go out opt for salads, chicken, and no fried foods. I didn’t say it was gonna be easy, but it is very possible.

When I eat out I usually have Caesar salads, fajitas with no tortilla, pizza toppings, chicken breast, and other fine low Carb foods. I made sure I could eat foods I like when I picked my new eating style, so make sure you do the same!

9) Find A Partner

Everything is easier when you have someone else helping you. Find someone to join you in your eating plan and find someone to go to the gym with you, or to go with you on a walk. It’s much better to have someone else you can talk to and that can hold you accountable.

You and your “accountability partner” can keep each other in check and if either of you is feeling down, you can inspire each other by your actions and positive words.

10) Grow As You Go, or Die If You Don’t Try.

Always remember it’s a gradual process. Getting to your goal weight will happen when you commit to it happening. If you won’t quit, then eventually, no matter what, you will see that magical number on the scale you’ve been aiming for.

Don’t get discouraged! See each day as a new opportunity to work towards your goal.

When you weigh in each week, take into account muscle mass, water, and what time of day you weigh. It’s best to weigh in wearing the same clothes at the same time on the same day of the week.

No matter what happens from week to week, promise yourself you’re going to keep on going.

Success comes to those who don’t see failure as an option. Your weight each week isn’t a sign of success or failure, it’s only a tool for determining what to change, keep, or fix. The best sign of weight loss is your clothes.

As you stay with your new eating plan, your clothes will feel looser. So look forward to buying new clothes! Just make sure they fit the new you…

Secret To Weight Loss - Part I

I hate reading titles like the one you just read. I only titled it that way to get your attention. But to be honest, I have discovered a secret to weight loss that can change your life forever, if you are open and ready to change.

Most of you that read this will more than likely skim through the article, think to yourself how you already know most of what is said, close the webpage and go on with your life. If that’s you, this entry isn’t meant for you. I’m writing this for those people that find it next to impossible to lose weight.

Those people that think they’ll always be fat because they don’t have enough self control, will power, or desire. This is for those people that that feel like losing weight is an uphill struggle, a hopeless quest for an imaginary goal.

Why am I qualified to reveal this secret?

Let me begin by saying that I am someone who has not only been there, I am still there. 5 months ago my life changed and I’ve been losing weight ever since. So far I’ve lost 50 pounds and I’ve been going to the gym 3 days a week too.

During this time I have had a chance to figure out a lot of things, and the secret to weight loss is one of the things I have learned. So, if you will, sit back and read this advice and if you’re ready for it, let’s begin.

Ancient Proverb: The Journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step.

So let’s begin with the basic fundamental truth. Your current situation and size is the realization of your past decisions. The foods we eat either contribute to weight gain or help lose weight. Each day we make the choice to gain more weight or lose weight by deciding what foods we eat. So step 1 is the easiest step of all. And yes, this is what I did, and yes it did help.

1) Your new lifestyle begins by devoting 2 weeks to eating whatever you want and as much of it as you want.

If you want to eat chocolate for every meal go for it. Don’t hold back, if you want it, eat it. You won’t gain that much weight; you’ll only get rid of the “forbidden fruit” mentality. Setting your mind free is the most important step. You will quickly see that food isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

2) After your 2 weeks are up, step on a scale, take measurements of your waist, hips, bust, biceps, thighs, etc. These numbers don’t mean anything. They are just a tool to determine your next step.

3) Write down a goal weight. Set a target weight and target date. Make a chart like this:

Begin by writing the target date down with a statement. (Ex. I will weigh xxx pounds by January 1, 2007). Next take your total weight loss amount and divide it by 10. So if you want to lose 80 pounds you would divide that by 10 and get 8. All you have to do is lose 8 pounds 10 times and you’ve reached your goal.

So let’s say your beginning weight is 250 pounds and you want to weigh 170. That’s 80 pounds. Make 10 boxes below your weight/date statement. Each box represents 8 pounds. Every time you lose 8 pounds, mark off a box like you do when marking off a calendar day.

Each time you lose 8 pounds, you’re 10% closer to your goal. Give yourself something each time you cross off a box. Maybe a new outfit, take a vacation day from work, go see an old friend, something you’ve been putting off that you really want to do. Write these things down in the box so you don’t forget. This gives you incentive to lose the weight.

4) Begin!

The hardest part of any weight loss is getting started. That first step can seem impossible. That’s why you’ve already gone through 3 steps that weren’t too difficult. You’ve already picked up some steam and you can use that as inspiration to take this next step.

I began by choosing a way of eating I could live with for life. That’s important. I use a mixture of a few different plans that work for me. I like eating less carbs and more proteins, which also helps me in the gym too, as protein is needed to achieve muscle gain. When it comes to diets most work IF you can stick to them, unfortunately most diets don’t work because they are next to impossible to stay on.

After you have found a new way of eating, you can begin. Wake up with the mindset of eating right. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to begin. Also, make sure you start taking some vitamins and supplements. I’m trying out some right now that I may end up selling in the future; I’ll let you know how that goes. In the mean time, take some vitamins, even a cheap daily from Wal-Mart will do for now.

5) At the end of the week, weigh in and see what the scale says. If you lost some weight, great, keep doing what you’re doing. If you didn’t, that’s great too! You’ve grown closer to finding what foods are preventing you from losing weight. When the new week starts, decide on ONE thing you’re going to change and change it.

I was eating chicken wings with bleu cheese dressing for the first few months and I consistently didn’t lose as much weight as I’d have liked to. So, when I’d lost some weight and found new foods that I liked, I stopped eating them. I haven’t had wings now in almost 3 months. The funny thing is that if I had tried to quit them from day 1, I probably wouldn’t have stayed on the plan. Like the Bill Murray movie “What About Bob” Baby Steps are the key.

Ok, these steps are enough to get you stared. Remember that each week you’re not trying to lose all the weight, you’re just trying to lose something. If you ever feel tempted by certain foods, you can give in and eat them if you want, just be prepared to not lose weight that week. If that’s what you want, that’s fine, but remember the consequences. As you continue on each week, your will power will grow stronger because you’ll have lost some weight.

The important thing is to get started! And with this plan it’s easy! For two weeks eat anything you want and get all the cravings out of you. You’ll be tired of your favorite foods by the time you begin, trust me.

Part II will be released soon and it has 5 more steps and goes into more detail about exercising, attitude, eating out, and dealing with temptations. Be sure to check back for it real soon!

And if you think this can help someone you know, send them the link!

Make sure to check out Part 2 in this series…..
